Caller reported that a male punched him in the face and displayed a handgun, then fled in a black BMW sedan. The incident occurred during what appears to have been a car meet in the area, and the two parties are believed to have known each other. The caller chased the suspect to the Mass General Brigham parking lot. The chase then continued to Planet Fitness on Cluff Crossing Rd where the caller pulled over and the suspect continued fleeing.

Responding officers pulled over a black BMW leaving the immediate area but the operator did not match the description of the suspect.

SPD was able to obtain the suspects plate which came back to an address in Plaistow, NH. SPD notified Plaistow PD who spotted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The operator was confirmed to be in possession of a handgun and was arrested by Plaistow PD. Salem Police is en route to Plaistow to take custody of the suspect.
